A few years ago, I found myself at a crossroads. I was burnt out and uninspired in my corporate job, stuck in a cycle of tactical grind that felt, well… pretty soul-sucking. Then I got promoted to a people leader, and everything changed. Suddenly, I wasn’t just doing the work—I was leading the people doing the work. Determined to be a better manager than some of the ones I’d had (we all know those managers), I dove headfirst into leadership development.
I devoured books, courses, and workshops, all in pursuit of being the kind of leader who could truly support and elevate their team. And you know what? I loved it. Coaching, mentoring, building strategy, and seeing my team thrive—it lit me up. For the first time in a long time, I felt energized by my work.
Around the same time, I decided to take a leap and start the process of buying a business. As part of that journey, I joined a coaching program for small business owners. Walking into that room, I expected to learn a lot—and I did—but what I didn’t expect was how much I’d want to be on the other side of the table, guiding and mentoring others.
That experience woke me up. I wanted to combine my corporate procurement expertise with my love of coaching to create something meaningful—not just for me, but for the people I work with. I realized how often small manufacturers, the backbone of so many industries, struggle to break into the corporate world. They’re innovative, driven, and capable, yet they face roadblocks that keep them from reaching their full potential.
